Gettin' ready for winter- German style!

I have seen a lot of things in Germany that make sense. Things that make me say, "Huh? I wonder why no one does this in the U.S."

This, however, is not one of them! I have noticed that people here seem a little wimpy about cold weather. But seriously- shoulder warmers? Elbow warmers? Let me give you a tip that we use back in the old country- just put on another shirt!

Grandama Mertens used to cut the sleeves off of old sweaters and pull them up on her lower legs and ankles! I think her idea must have been the inspiration for leg warmers! And when I was a child my Mom knitted a shoulder warmer for me...it was called a "shrug"...I am not sure why a person would need elbow warmers...would elbows be colder than the rest of the arms?

those "warmers" are hilarious! and they are serious about it, even using "angora" wool, i noticed. especially for me, now living in the arctic, where the saying goes, "no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!".

Hey, that´s for medical therapy concerning arthritis / rheumatic diseases. No one healthy I know wears that kind of stuff...

Okay "lunch," I suppose the warmers might be helpful for people with joint problems. But you have to admit that those models don't look like they have arthritis!
